Our recent Halloween extravaganza at La Posta Vecchia was like something from the movies! A spellbinding setting for a grand party, our Roman villa by the seaside came to life with colour, atmosphere and charm. Discovering the ambience and historical charm of La Posta Vecchia is a magical experience in itself, let alone during a special party that enlivens every corner of the property. With its breathtaking views, diverse spaces and captivating details, La Posta Vecchia proved why it’s the perfect destination for an epic celebration.
Assisted by La Posta Vecchia’s expert events team, the party’s gracious host, Pellicano Hotels Group CEO and Creative Director Marie-Louise Sciò, threw a Halloween party that will go down in the history books. What better way to celebrate all things spooky-chic and to wrap up an incredible season 2024 at La Posta Vecchia than an unforgettable event that had guests eating, drinking and dancing all night long?
Halloween, La Posta Vecchia style!
Everyone knows how much Marie-Louise loves to throw a party, and how artfully she does it! This Halloween spectacular was certainly no exception. Forget the regular Halloween ‘theme’, the event’s official ‘dress code’ was black and white stripes, a timeless style statement that’s open to many interpretations, and a homage to La Posta Vecchia’s iconic signature stripes. Not to mention the epic striped carpet at the villa’s entrance that greeted guests upon their arrival!
This theme was complemented by a warm autumn colour palette of burgundy and pomegranate, which was observed in every detail from the opulent table settings to gorgeous flower arrangements. Set against La Posta Vecchia’s enchanting rooms and spaces, the event’s creative styling immersed guests in the evening’s cinematic atmosphere as they enjoyed a theatrical arrival at the main entrance, aperitivo on the Terrace, a buffet-style dinner at The Cesar, and lots (and lots!) of dancing during the after party inside the glorious Getty Studio.
The ‘magic touch’: Menu, details and decor
In true La Posta Vecchia style, no detail was left unturned when it came to creating a magical atmosphere with event details and decorations. Baroque-style candelabras and crockery made guests feel like Roman royalty, as did a special menu by Ristorante The Cesar, La Posta Vecchia’s celebrated restaurant for the event.
Creative takes on Roman classics included carbonara-filled maritozzi and mezze maniche alla gricia, along with Amatriciana rigatoni and artichokes with cacio e pepe. Did we mention seasonal highlights like pumpkin parmigiana, wild chicory, and Bracciano ricotta cannoli for a seasonal twist? BuonISSIMO –especially paired with wines from Azienda Santa Lucia.
Each of these tantalising dishes was served on a grand marble table dressed with pumpkins, ivy, persimmons, and rosehips, creating a captivating culinary spectacle.
Eating, drinking and dancing the night away
With a diverse range of spaces to suit every stage of an epic event or celebration, guests at our Halloween party moved to the mesmerising Getty Studio to continue the festivities after dinner. They savoured cocktails from Bar Piranesi, and danced the night away to tunes from DJ Paul Harris. Imagine all these festivities amidst the Getty Studio’s historic art and furnishings – no wonder nobody wanted to leave!
Joined by both international and Italian guests and friends who brought their sparkle and vibrance to our fiesta, we can safely say La Posta Vecchia’s magical Halloween celebration was one for the ages, and a testament to the hotel’s iconic status as a ‘host’ for unforgettable events and celebrations.
