ISSIMO x Lido: Why Stripes Will Always Be a Summer State of Mind

ISSIMO x Lido: Why Stripes Will Always Be a Summer State of Mind

Our latest collab with Lido tells a story of style, stripes, and sun-kissed days

There’s something about stripes. They’re clean, graphic, endlessly chic – and they never go out of style. From Riviera-bound icons in Breton tees to striped parasols fluttering over sun-drenched terraces (just like the ones at our hotels), they’ve always been part of the dolce vita visual vocabulary. But if there’s one place stripes really shine? It’s swimwear.

Which brings us to our latest collaboration with beloved beachwear brand Lido, a capsule collection that takes the stripe from classic to cult. Rendered in earthy rust and deep teal, these aren’t your average lines – they’re summer-ready statements. Elegant but playful, nostalgic but fresh. Like a vintage postcard with just the right filter.

Each silhouette has its own personality: Trentasei, a one-piece that balances sporty ease with poolside glamour; Sedici, which keeps things sleek and sculptural with its high-cut legs; and Ottantacinque – our string bikini – which delivers a sunny, carefree energy . It’s a tight edit, designed to elevate your suitcase and make your summer feel a little extra BellISSIMO.

But beyond the cut and colour, these stripes are also a love letter. A nod to the Italian coast, beach loungers, canvas umbrellas, and that sweet lido life. A wink to Gio Ponti’s geometry. A little homage to vintage lifeguards. Stripes are woven into our culture – graphic proof that summer has arrived.

So whether you’re diving into saltwater or ordering another Spritz poolside – better yet if at Hotel Il Pellicano, Mezzatorre or La Posta Vecchia , do it in stripes that know where they come from. And where they’re headed: south, ideally.
