A Little Pellicano Mischief in London

October 22, 2026

From Porto Ercole to the Thames, Hotel Il Pellicano brought its legendary aperitivo hour to Bobbi's Bar for Frieze Week

What happens when you take one of the Tuscan coast's most beloved aperitivo rituals and transport it to the heart of London? A little Pellicano mischief, naturally.

For Frieze Week this October, Hotel Il Pellicano swapped the shores of Monte Argentario for the banks of the Thames, taking up residence at Bobbi's Bar, inside the newly opened St Clement hotel at 180 The Thames. From 13 to 18 October, the collaboration brought a taste of Porto Ercole to the British capital, with familiar faces, favourite cocktails and a rather Italian approach to the early evening.

At the centre of it all was Federico Morosi, who has spent almost two decades behind Il Pellicano's Bar All'Aperto. Anyone who has enjoyed an aperitivo at the hotel will know that Federico is as much a part of the experience as the drinks themselves. For the London residency, he joined forces with the Bobbi's team to serve some of the hotel's best-loved creations, including the Teller Negroni, the Dana and the Patsy Spritzer.

There was something new on the menu, too: a Pellicano interpretation of Bobbi's Martini, created especially for the occasion by Federico and his London counterparts. A meeting of two bars, two cities and two approaches to cocktail-making, with the pleasure of a good drink as common ground.

The setting couldn't have been more fitting. Bobbi's Bar is part of St Clement, Nick Jones's new hotel on the Thames, a stone's throw from Somerset House and Covent Garden. With its lively atmosphere and late-night spirit, it made a natural London home for an Italian hotel where the bar has long been one of the most important places to gather.

After all, aperitivo at Il Pellicano has never been simply about ordering a cocktail. Since the hotel's earliest days, its bar has brought together an eclectic cast of guests, friends and familiar faces. It is where conversations begin, plans for the evening take shape and, quite often, nobody is in any particular hurry to leave.

For Marie-Louise Sciò, CEO and Creative Director of Pellicano Hotels, the collaboration also offered an opportunity to bring a little of that atmosphere to a city close to her heart. London has always felt like a second home to her, making Bobbi's a particularly appealing setting for Federico to work his magic.

And the feeling was mutual. Nick Jones, the man behind St Clement, has long believed that a hotel's bar is where its personality truly comes alive. In Il Pellicano, he recognised a similarly relaxed approach to hospitality, where a glamorous setting and a good time go comfortably hand in hand.

For six evenings, the Tuscan coast and the Thames found common ground over aperitivo. The view was different, certainly, but the spirit was very, very Pellicano.

Hotel Il Pellicano at Bobbi's Bar took place at St Clement, 180 The Thames, London,
from 13 to 18 October 2026.
