THE ISSIMO EDIT: Diego Percossi Papi

ThE ISSIMO EDIT

Diego Percossi Papi

Visionary jewellery designer Diego Percossi Papi curates The ISSIMO Edit this month.

Diego Percossi Papi is a name that puts a twinkle in our eye, and one that certainly needs no introduction around here. The Rome-based jewellery designer has been a long-standing collaborator and friend of ISSIMO, sharing our enthusiasm for artisanal, ‘Made in Italy’ treasures that carry their own symbolism and stories. It was our pleasure to invite Diego to curate The ISSIMO Edit this month, which features a few of his top picks with a decidedly Roman twist.

“It’s a pleasure for my family and I to have collaborated with ISSIMO on various occasions, and have our brand’s jewels currently featured here. I admire the elegant story that ISSIMO tells of Italy; its beauty, its artisanal riches, and, of course, its culinary traditions. For me, ISSIMO

encompasses all the senses – taste, smell, touch, hearing and sight!” says Diego.

“My favourite Pellicano Hotel is Mezzatorre Hotel on the island of Ischia. It was recommended to me many years ago by a dear friend, particularly for its thermal spa waters and therapeutic treatments that relieved my shoulder pain in an exceptional way. Mezzatorre Hotel is in a superb position, and its beauty has always struck me. Both its aesthetic and emotional value have always been important to me. Marie-Louise Sciò has truly enhanced the hotel through her creative vision, making it an oasis of magical elegance,” he says

BORSALINO

Raffia Crochet Medium Brim Hat

Every now and then I wander past the shop windows around Rome, near where my atelier is located in the heart of the city. The Borsalino hats are among some of my favourite displays. I always wear them, and in fact, I have one for each season. I’m considering a beautiful new summer Borsalino hat.

LE TRE SARTE

Ottaviano Loden Man Vest

As we can see, ISSIMO has many refined style choices for us men too! This vest is both practical while also making an elegant statement with its chromatic contrasts.

Unisex Ugo Black Sandals

Anticipating the arrival of warmer weather (and eventually summer…), I would pair these sandals with a new Borsalino raffia hat.

SANT’EUSTACHIO Il CAFFÈ

Ground Coffee Jar for Filter

One of Rome’s most famous cafés, Sant’Eustachio Il Caffé, is located a stone’s throw from my atelier, between the ancient Basilica and the incredible dome of Sant’Ivo alla Sapienza designed by the architect Francesco Borromini. Sometimes my clients come to see me after purchasing their goods from Sant’Eustachio Café, and bring its unmistakable aroma in the atelier.

I am always drawing and designing, so of course, I can never be without a good set of pencils!

FRANCO MARIA RICCI BOOKS

Labirinto della Masone

The books by art publisher and editor Franco Maria Ricci are very intriguing. I particularly like Grandi Giardini Italiani and the Labirinto della Masone (Mason Labyrinth) because these books express Ricci’s love for nature, love for art, and love for architecture. I find his work and his creative views very similar to my own.
