Happy Birthday, Hotel Il Pellicano!

Here’s how we celebrated the 60th anniversary of our iconic hideaway

Hotel Il Pellicano has always been more than a hotel. It’s a state of mind, and a lifestyle — a golden glow, a breeze from the Tyrrhenian, an attitude that lives between a Slim Aarons photograph and a laidback sunset Spritz at Bar Roberto with friends.

On the weekend of June 6-8, to mark its 60th birthday, that magic combination was celebrated in true Pellicano fashion: effortlessly glamorous, impossibly elegant, and full of heart.

Hosted by our inimitable CEO and Creative Director Marie-Louise Sciò, the three-day fête was a love letter to everything Il Pellicano stands for. Things kicked off on Friday night, with a sunset aperitivo and convivial dinner that featured some of the hotel’s most iconic dishes. On Saturday morning, a barefoot breakfast presented in collaboration with Speedo was followed by tennis matches hosted by Superga, setting a playful, easygoing tone for the rest of the day.

The grand finale, a stunning seaside dinner, turned – as expected – into a night of dancing under the stars – a classic ending to any good Pellicano party. From start to finish, every detail whispered of dolce far niente — the sweet art of doing absolutely everything and nothing at all.

The weekend’s style echoed the decade of the hotel’s birth – the 1960s – nodding gently to its roots with vintage charm and the classic timeless ease that’s always distinguished our property. And of course, the guest list was just as iconic: a constellation of dear friends, long-time guests, cultural luminaries, and modern creatives, all drawn together by the unique gravitational pull of our beloved cliffside hideaway.
