New Season, Same Magic

March 12, 2026

New Season, Same Magic

Pellicano Hotels reopen with fresh faces, new projects and even more reasons to book that escape

Dust off the sunglasses. Press the linen. Grab the ISSIMO tote from your favourite hotel to pack up your book and sunscreen. The Pellicano Hotels are officially back.

From April, Italy’s most photogenic hideaways reopen their doors with fresh energy, thoughtful refurbishments and two new General Managers ready to usher in a new chapter, all without losing an ounce of that unmistakable Pellicano magic.

This season also marks a renewed focus on wellbeing across the Pellicano portfolio, with a philosophy that blends nourishment, rest and joyful movement, inviting guests to reconnect with nature, the body and the pleasure of slowing down. Stay tuned — more on this very soon!

Rather than a prescriptive approach to wellness, the concept embraces a more holistic and intuitive idea of wellbeing, rooted in balance, conviviality and the pace of the Mediterranean lifestyle.

At its heart is the understanding that wellbeing can take many forms: a walk through coastal paths or countryside trails, a morning yoga or Pilates session, time spent outdoors, or simply the restorative power of unhurried days. Food and drink also play their part. Inspired by the principles of the Mediterranean diet, the experience will celebrate good ingredients, seasonal cooking and the simple pleasures of the table, perhaps even accompanied by a glass of wine.

Together these elements bring a renewed focus to many of the activities already offered across the hotels, gathering them under a shared philosophy of wellbeing – one that encourages guests to care for body and mind while fully enjoying the pleasures of being in Italy.

Here’s what’s new, what’s next and why your summer plans might need rearranging right now.

The Dates to Know

Title

Translation: spring in Tuscany, summer in Ischia, autumn by the Roman coast.

You’re covered, and you’re welcome.

La Posta Vecchia: Roman Grandeur, Reimagined

On the Lazio coast, La Posta Vecchia is making the biggest splash this season – quite literally. The historic seaside villa reopens with a stunning new outdoor pool, set within its gardens and overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. Framed by striped loungers and the villa’s Renaissance architecture, it’s poised to become the new heart of long, sun-soaked afternoons by the water, and one of the most coveted addresses for an idyllic weekend away from Rome.

The property will also unveil an upgraded museum area, highlighting its extraordinary archaeological collection, alongside newly renovated rooms that bring refreshed comfort to a destination already steeped in history.

La Posta Vecchia also extends its season until 8 November, giving autumn on the Roman coast the spotlight it deserves.

Hotel Il Pellicano: A New Era on the Tuscan Coast

Overlooking its legendary cove in Porto Ercole, Hotel Il Pellicano enters the season with a new General Manager at the helm: Edward Leenders

With over 25 years in luxury hospitality, Leenders brings global polish and operational finesse to the Tuscan legend. A graduate of Hotel School The Hague and Cornell, he combines international perspective with a deep respect for heritage – a fitting match for a hotel that has hosted everyone from Charlie Chaplin to modern-day aesthetes.

Expect exciting refurbishments across the property, including newly renovated rooms, blending timeless elegance with subtle contemporary updates.

Same cliffs. Same cinematic sunsets. A whole fresh vibe.

Mezzatorre Hotel & Thermal Spa: Island Spirit, New Leadership

Perched on its rocky promontory in Ischia, Mezzatorre Hotel & Thermal Spa also welcomes a new General Manager: Antonella Puglisi

With a career spanning private islands in Cambodia and the Solomon Islands, wilderness lodges in Canada and Sicilian wine estates in the Aeolian Islands, Puglisi brings serious “sense of place” credentials. Her background blends operational rigor with a refined, experiential approach to hospitality, ideal for a property defined by thermal waters, cinematic history and Mediterranean drama.

New this season? A sleek new boat ready for coastal escapes and secret coves, plus beautifully renovated rooms.

But that’s not all.  With a new wellness vision quietly taking shape across the hotels, the year ahead is all about balancing indulgence with restoration.

The only real question now is: Tuscany, Ischia or the Roman coast first?
