The ISSIMO Edit: Laura May Todd

Meet Laura May Todd – design editor, Milan insider, and the person you call when you need to know where to find the perfect espresso cup, linen sofa, or quiet trattoria with the red wine that tastes like November. Originally from Canada, Laura has made Milan her home, writing about the beauty of Italian life for publications like T Magazine, WSJ and Vogue. She notices the details most of us overlook: the curve of a chair, the way sunlight falls on terrazzo, the quiet theatre of everyday style.

The ISSIMO Edit: Roberto Sciò

As we celebrate Hotel Il Pellicano’s 60th anniversary this month, we couldn't help but turn to Dr. Sciò for June’s ISSIMO Edit.

His picks, as expected, are absolutely on point. “The nod to the 1960s, evoked through Il Pellicano’s historic logo, gives these objects a nostalgic yet distinctly modern charm – as if they’re telling a story of style, of an iconic destination, and of a certain Italian idea of leisure that continues to capture our collective imagination,” he told us. “The design is sophisticated, with a knowing, playful edge – unmistakably upscale but in a cultured, discerning way that brims with personality.”
