Pellicano Hotels reopen soon, and spring is one of the best times to visit!
We’re counting down the days until our hotels reopen their doors and welcome you to a new season with that signature ‘Pelli’ warmth, flair and attention to detail that our guests never forget. It all starts with La Posta Vecchia on 29th March!
A little secret between us, the beginning of the season – springtime – is one of the best times to visit La Posta Vecchia, Hotel Il Pellicano and Mezzatorre Hotel & Spa. Why? Not only will you be the first to experience the hotels’ new amenities and upgrades, you can discover a range of special activities and experiences in and around the hotels that offer a full, multi-sensory experience of their locations. From experiences focussed on nature and wellness, to culture and history, and culinary joys that tantalise your palette – discover what the hotels have planned for you this spring.
HOTEL IL PELLICANO: RE-OPENS 9th APRIL
This year the Hotel Il Pellicano invites guests to discover the nearby Maremma region on Porto Ercole’s peninsula, which boasts a unique range of local experiences including wine tasting at the Antinori family’s Le Mortelle and the Tenuta di Monteverro. In this are you can also explore medieval hilltop towns and villages including Pitigliano, as well as other historical sites and the storied Tarot Garden. Let one of the hotel’s drivers take you from one spot to another as you discover these hidden treasures that enrich your stay in Porto Ercole with history and culture. There’s even more to explore in the nearby seaport town of Porto Santo Stefano too!
LA POSTA VECCHIA: RE-OPENS 29th MARCH
You most likely already know about the ancient history that surrounds this beautiful villa in Palo Laziale (and even exists in our secret museum beneath the hotel!) which include Castello Odescalchi, Villa Romana at Marina di San Nicola and the Marsh of Torre Flavia. Borrow one of the hotel bikes and plan a leisurely cycle to explore each of these sites on a mild spring afternoon.
Those who want to get some exercise without leaving the hotel will enjoy its brand new gym with state-of-the-art equipment, and its new tennis court nestled amongst La Posta Vecchia’s idyllic gardens. And if you’re not relaxed enough already, the hotel’s Beauty Club continues to offer sublime treatments that redefine the art of wellness for your body and mind.
Foodies can enjoy a brand new program of cooking classes with Executive Chef Antonio Magliulo, who will guide you through the process of creating some of the hotel’s artful new spring dishes using seasonal local produce including carciofi (artichokes), asparagi (asparagus) and freshly-caught seafood.

MEZZATORRE HOTEL & THERMAL SPA: REOPENS 11TH APRIL
From long walks through its forests and lush gardens, to long afternoons discovering its pristine bays boat, guests discover something new and intriguing on the ‘Green Island’ of Ischia everytime they return to Mezzatorre Hotel.
Guess what, the hotel has even more outdoor experiences and activities planned for guests in 2024. These include a day spent trekking through the ancient hills of Campagnano, which ends with a wine tasting at Cantine Antonio Mazzella, and discovering the tranquil heritage fishing village of Sant’Angelo which is connected to the main island by the Ischia Ponte bridge.
Make sure you also leave yourself enough time to discover Ischia’s sublime natural thermal parks including Giardini Poseidon Terme, which reopen on 20th April, as well as other tranquil encounters with the natural world including La Mortella Gardens where you’ll find all kinds of local and exotic flora.
